COPYRIGHT & APPROPRIATE IMAGE USE:
During the course of this art class, students may complete activities where copyright images may be an issue. Students will be allowed to use copyrighted images to draw from in my class for practice and learning purposes only. Any attempt to sell or claim copyrighted images as your own can become a liability for anyone.
Students should also use caution when posting images online that are from unknown sources. To be safe, use images from sources such as free microsoft clipart or personal photographs and/or drawings. Always give credit when you use sources.
In art, like no other subject, appropriateness of images can become a concern. Occasionally, art images may be offensive if the school filtering system does not catch it. Please let Ms. Parks know if this occurs during an online activity. Students should also keep their web searches and used images school appropriate to avoid disciplinary issues.
INTERNET SAFETY & PERMISSIONS
Lastly, students may have the opportunity to be photographed and/or their work displayed for recognition in local papers or online. As a parent, if you do not want your child to participate in this, please let me know. If a student sees their artwork randomly posted and would like it removed, simply contact me. I am very careful and concerned when it comes to students using the internet and I take safety issues very seriously. However, I am also very proud of my kids and want to show off their amazing creations!
